Salamu alaykom;

There is a couple of sugar free Gums contain about 2-grams of sugar alcohol.
Is it haram?

Thanks

From my readings, Sugar Alcohol is not to be confused with "alcohol" which is forbidden for Muslim consumption (haram) - thus, "sugar alcohol" is permissible.

Shukran Jazeelan Sheikh. I wish to add few lines related to this topic. The "drinkable" alcohol that is deemed haram is "Ethyl Alchol (C2H5OH)". Alchol is term used for any organic compound that bears "-OH" group in the molecule. Sugar alcohol is also known as "polyol" and is often used as low calorie sweetener......
